Come un lampo[1] is the first album by the artist Federico Carro[2]. Originally born as a poem, the text was placed within the first song, arranged and composed around the text to try to emphasize the words the author wanted to express.
The project was born from Federico's[3] need to pay homage to her disappeared friend, trying to make the feelings of loss, but also nostalgic for it, remain within the song. The single was made in a recording studio called: "Nautilus Rec Studio”[4], together with the sound engineer: "Giuseppe D’Aleo", "Luca Giampietri" and the graphic designer and illustrator: "Gabriele D’Aleo"[5].
Author[]
Federico Carro[6] was born on June 15, 1991 in La Spezia and grew up in Vernazza. He spent his days surrounded by the natural landscape between the green hills and the sea, where he spent his childhood painting and drawing. He later enrolled in art high school[7] where he developed a deeper connection with art, also discovering his talent for writing. In her last year of high school, her childhood friend suffers an accident, the artist from that tragic event headed mainly towards music. Later Federico began taking singing, arranging, piano and composition lessons, starting his first musical album.
Her first song that creates “Come un Lampo"[8] was thus dedicated to her missing friend. After his musical group has decided to separate, Federico decides to continue the musical album in an independent studio in Carrara, named Nautilus Rec Studio.[9] Shortly after, he publishes the full album "Come un Lampo" and completes his book "Il segreto del Verziere".[10] Later he met Marco Stanzani who launched him in the Italian charts with his debut single “Brucerei il fuoco per te".[11] The song became widely famous among Italian radios. During this time, he was contacted by Bentley Records[12] which led to the collaborative release of his second album.
Federico works at the same time on his writing and his musical endeavors, collaborating with famous people including Renato Minore, Rai journalist and university professor, with whom he worked on the preface of one of his novels. He launched his third novel in collaboration with James Essinger, who translated his novel into English. He also worked with Jack Binder, a Hollywood producer who has collaborated on several films with various artists including Martin Scorsese. Even now the author continues to write his novels based on his fantasy saga called: "The King of Light". [13]
Background and production[]
Initially Come un lampo[14] was supposed to be a poem and a simple tribute, but after various studies the author decided to turn it into a song and later into a music album. The album is connected by various feelings such as love, but also hatred and perdition. Songs that can give a sense of melancholy but also of union, some songs that can be danced, others simply poetic that tell different moods.
The album is composed of Pop music, mixed with environmental effects with R'n'B and Jazz features, while the lyrics of the songs have a fairly refined language, with poetic and sometimes epic overtones. The song like the album recalls certain nuances drawn by that girl and the friendly relationship with the author of when they were children. Furthermore, this project also alludes to a sense of perennial memory within the song, also present within the author's heart.
